Use Agent Approve

Approve, deny, and remember

Respond once or turn a decision into a reusable policy rule.

An approval shows the agent, tool, command or action, and any policy match that matters to the decision. Read the full action before responding.

Respond once

  • Approve lets this request continue.
  • Deny blocks this request.
  • Deny with Feedback, when offered, blocks the request and sends your explanation back to the agent.

A decision only applies to the request in front of you unless Remember decisions is on.

Remember a decision

  1. Turn on Remember decisions at the top of the Approvals screen.
  2. Tap Approve or Deny.
  3. Choose the scope that Agent Approve should add to the active policy.

Depending on the tool and command, you may be able to remember all uses of the tool, a suggested command pattern, or a custom pattern. Approving adds the selected scope to the Allow List. Denying adds it to the Deny List.

Choose the narrowest scope that matches your intent. Remembering an entire shell tool is much broader than remembering one command prefix.

Remember options

The available choices depend on the tool input and any shell subcommands Agent Approve can parse.

ChoiceWhat is saved
All uses of toolA broad rule for every input to that native tool, or every tool under a server-scoped MCP rule. Other pending requests in the same scope can be resolved by the new rule.
Only this exact inputAn exact-match rule for the full input. This is offered for supported non-MCP command input.
A suggested patternA narrower Exact, Starts with, or Contains rule generated from the command. Compound commands can produce a choice for each parsed part. Read the preview before saving it.
Edit pattern...Opens the pattern editor so you can change the text and match type.
Don't add anythingSends the current decision without creating a policy rule.

MCP requests do not offer an exact-input shortcut from the approval sheet. Use the policy editor when you need a narrow rule for an MCP tool or its structured parameters.

Change a remembered decision

Open Policy, select the active policy, then open its Allow List or Deny List. Swipe an entry to remove it. Use the plus button to add a replacement rule.

Rules affect future requests. Removing a rule does not change decisions that have already completed.

Approvals page actions

Open the more menu on the Approvals page for actions that apply to the pending list.

ActionWhat it does
Approve AllApproves every pending request using the current Remember decisions setting.
Deny AllDenies every pending request using the current Remember decisions setting.
Clear AllDismisses every pending request. Stale agent requests that have already moved on do not receive a fabricated response.

Bulk actions can release or stop several agents at once. Review the pending list and the Remember decisions toggle before using Approve All or Deny All.
