Subscription and account lifecycle

Understand renewal, expiration, connected computers, and account closure.

Apple manages the Agent Approve trial and subscription.

During the free trial

Cancelling auto-renew prevents the subscription from renewing. You can continue using Agent Approve until the trial expiration date shown by Apple.

To review the date or change your renewal choice, open Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions on your iPhone. You can also open Manage Subscription from Agent Approve.

Cancelling auto-renew does not interrupt an active trial or billing period. Expiration happens on the date Apple shows, not when you turn off renewal. It does not change your Agent Approve account or the integrations on your computers.

Trial and expiry summaries

When your trial ends within two days and auto-renew is off, the app shows a summary of what Agent Approve has been doing for you: Approvals, Denied, Auto-Approved, Auto-Denied, Agents, and Total Events, with a recent activity trend. The same summary appears if the subscription ends. You can subscribe from the summary or dismiss it. Subscribing closes both the summary and the purchase screen and returns you to the app. A dismissed summary stays dismissed until the next time you open the app, and it stops appearing once you subscribe.

Subscription notifications

Agent Approve sends a push notification two days before a trial ends, when access ends, and when a payment fails while Apple retries the charge. Each notice is sent once. Turn off Subscription Reminders in Settings to stop all three. See the settings reference.

When a subscription expires

After access expires, Agent Approve no longer processes approval requests for that account. The hook response tells the agent that the Agent Approve subscription expired or that an active subscription is required.

The app says so directly: the Approvals and Agents tabs show a paused notice, and the cloud status no longer reports an active connection. You keep read access to your event history, profile, and settings while expired, so nothing is lost by waiting.

Renew in the iOS app to continue; approvals and monitoring resume without reinstalling anything on your computers. If you no longer want to use Agent Approve, follow Manage an installation on each connected computer.

If a payment fails

When a renewal charge fails, Apple retries it. Access can continue through Apple's billing grace period, but when the grace period ends, or when there is none, access ends and the app shows the expired state even while Apple keeps retrying. Fix the payment method in your Apple subscription settings to restore access.

Before closing your account

Apple billing and the Agent Approve account are separate. Cancel the Apple subscription first. Closing the Agent Approve account does not change the subscription managed by Apple.

Your connected computers also have their own Agent Approve installation. Follow Manage an installation on every computer before completing the account closure flow in the iOS app.

If you closed the account first

Changes made in the iOS app do not edit coding-agent configuration files on your computers. An integration left in place may continue trying to reach Agent Approve, then use the offline fallback selected during installation.

Follow the installation-management guide on each connected computer. Token refresh and pairing require an active Agent Approve account.

After account closure, a remaining hook no longer has valid account authorization. It cannot deliver approvals or activity to the closed account and will apply the computer's configured offline fallback. Remove the installation from each computer instead of leaving invalid hooks in place.
