Explore Demo Mode
Try the approval flow with sample data before you create an account or connect an agent.
Demo Mode lets you explore Agent Approve with simulated agents, activity, policies, and approval requests. It does not connect to a real coding agent or run real commands, and it needs no account, subscription, or computer installation.
Start the demo
- Open Agent Approve on your iPhone.
- On the welcome screen, choose Try Demo.
- Tap Start Demo.
If you already use the app with an account, you can enter the demo without signing out: open Settings and turn on the Demo Mode toggle. The app switches to simulated data until you exit, and your account is unchanged.
While the demo is active, Settings and the cloud connection sheet show a Demo Mode indicator so you always know you are looking at simulated data.
Approve and deny requests
The demo starts with one pending approval, and two more arrive on their own within the first half minute. Tap a card to open the full request: the agent, the tool, and the complete command or tool input.
The first request is a compound shell command. The detail view parses it into its individual commands and shows which of them the active policy's Allow List already covers and which do not match, the same check Agent Approve runs on real compound commands. Approve, Deny, and Deny with Feedback all work. The decision is recorded in the simulated agent's event timeline, and an approval also adds a matching completion event, so you can follow the request from arrival to result.
Save decisions to the policy lists
Turn on Remember decisions on the Approvals screen, then approve or deny a request. The demo offers the same scope choices as a real account: the whole tool, the exact input, or a suggested pattern for a specific command. Your choice is added to the demo policy's Allow List or Deny List, where you can open it, edit it, or remove it. See Approve, deny, and remember.
Watch simulated agents
The Agents view lists several simulated agents in different states: working, awaiting approval, idle, and finished. Open an agent to see its event history, including prompts, tool calls, thinking, and responses. While you watch an active agent, a short burst of new simulated events streams in live.
Tap any event to drill into its full content, the same detail view used for real events.
Explore the built-in policies
The Policy view carries the complete built-in policy set, with Default active. The Default policy ships with a pre-populated Allow List and Deny List, so you can open each list and read exactly which patterns new accounts start with. The other built-in policies, including Permissive, Restrictive, and Guarded, are also present. See Policies and default behavior.
You can switch policies, edit the lists, change a policy's default behavior, and change its approval-timeout choice, the same controls a real account has. Changes stay inside the demo. One exception: Get Policy Updates is disabled in the demo because it fetches new patterns from the service.
Review Profile and Settings
The Profile view shows sample stats, a seven-day activity chart grouped by agent, and a badge collection with one unseen badge.
In Settings, the notification and badge controls work with simulated data: Mobile Q&A, Agent Completion, Voice Follow-up, Badge Celebrations, and Subscription Reminders can all be toggled, and their values are saved on the device for the demo session. The cloud button opens the connection sheet, which shows a simulated demo status and account section instead of real subscription details.
Simulated notifications
When the two later demo requests arrive, the app posts a notification for each one. These are local notifications created on your iPhone while the app is running. No push notification is sent, and nothing leaves the device. If you have not allowed notifications for Agent Approve, the requests still appear in the Approvals list without an alert.
Demo controls in Settings
While Demo Mode is active, the Demo Mode section in Settings contains:

Exit the demo
The exit button's label and destination depend on whether you are signed in:
- Exit Demo & Sign Up appears when you are not signed in. It returns you to the welcome screen, where you can create an account or start another demo.
- Exit Demo appears when you are signed in, for example after entering the demo from the Settings toggle. The app confirms your session and returns you to your account with your real data.
If the app cannot verify your session, for example while offline, it shows an error and stays in the demo so no state is lost. Try again once you have a connection.
What the demo does not include
- No real agent is connected, and no command runs anywhere.
- Nothing you do in the demo is saved to an account. Demo activity and policy edits reset when you reset the data, exit, or relaunch the app.
- Demo approval requests never expire, so you can read a request for as long as you want. Real requests follow the active policy's timeout behavior. See Timeouts and offline fallback.
- Badges from Award Demo Badges show the celebration flow only; the Profile badge collection keeps showing the curated sample badges.
- Get Policy Updates is disabled.
Connect your own agents
Open Settings, then choose Exit Demo & Sign Up. After creating your account, follow the Quickstart to install Agent Approve on your computer and connect a real coding agent. On a real account, the built-in policies work the same way you saw in the demo, and every list stays editable.
