Requirements and subscription
Check what you need before installing Agent Approve.
You need an iPhone with Agent Approve installed, a development computer, and at least one supported coding agent.
Before you install
- Sign in to Agent Approve on your iPhone.
- Start the 7-day free trial or use an active subscription. Read Subscription and account lifecycle before changing either one.
- Allow notifications so approvals and completion alerts can reach you when the app is not open. See iPhone permissions.
- Install Node.js so the
npxcommand is available on your development computer. - Make sure the coding agent you want to connect is already installed.
The installer supports macOS, Linux, and Windows through Git Bash. Run it in the same user account that runs your coding agents so it can find their configuration files.
Apple Watch
Apple Watch is optional. Install the watch app through the Watch app on your iPhone, then open Agent Approve on the watch once so it can finish connecting.
What the installer changes
The installer shows the agents it found and asks which ones to connect. It adds Agent Approve hooks or plugins to the selected agents and stores the Agent Approve configuration under ~/.agentapprove/. It preserves backups that the restore command can use.
After installation, verify your setup with a real approval request.
