Add another device or computer
Connect another iPhone or development computer without losing your current setup.
Each development computer has its own token and encryption pairing. Pair the new computer instead of copying files from an existing one.
The standard plan supports up to 3 iOS devices and 5 computers. The two limits are counted separately. Open Settings, then look under Connected Devices to see the limits and current count for your plan.
Add another computer
- Install your coding agents on the new computer.
- Run
npx agentapproveon that computer. - Select the agents to connect.
- Complete the pairing prompt with your iPhone.
- Run
npx agentapprove statusand test one approval.
You can also open Settings, tap Computers under Connected Devices, tap Add Computer, and scan the installer code. The computer appears in Connected Devices when pairing completes and under Encryption Keys in the Privacy section after it sends encrypted activity.
The computer limit does not restrict how many supported coding-agent integrations you select on that computer. Event history is governed by your data-retention setting, not by the device count.
Add or repair an iPhone
On a computer that is already installed, run:
npx agentapprove pairUse the QR code or manual pairing option shown by the installer. If Camera access is off, type or privately paste the displayed code. Pairing can reuse a current encryption key, select a backup key, or create a new key. Creating a new key does not make older encrypted events readable with that key.
To add another iPhone, install Agent Approve and sign in on that iPhone. Computers use pairing codes; iOS devices are registered through sign-in.
When a device limit is reached
If a new computer or iPhone would exceed its limit, Agent Approve shows the existing devices of that type and asks you to remove one before continuing. Removing a device from one list does not free a slot in the other list.
- Removing an iOS device signs that device out. It can sign in again later if a slot is available.
- Removing a computer invalidates its Agent Approve connection. Rerun
npx agentapproveon that computer before using it again.
You can remove a device at any time from the Connected Devices section in Settings by opening the appropriate list and swiping the device.
If you only need a new token
Run npx agentapprove refresh. Refresh creates a new access token and reuses the current pairing context. Use pair when you need to connect another device or repair encryption pairing.
Do not send pairing codes, tokens, or encryption keys to support.
