Keep agents going after completion
Use completion notifications and Voice Follow-up to know when work stops and send the next instruction.
Agent Completion and Voice Follow-up solve different parts of the handoff after an agent finishes a turn.
- Agent Completion tells you that a supported agent stopped.
- Voice Follow-up opens a voice or text reply that can be returned to a supported live session.
Turn on the handoff you want
- Open Settings in Agent Approve.
- Allow notifications if prompted.
- Turn on Agent Completion when a notification is enough.
- Turn on Voice Follow-up when you want to send the next instruction from your phone.
- Check Integration capabilities to confirm that the agent supports follow-up input.
When Voice Follow-up is enabled for a supported integration, its prompt can replace the completion-only notification for that stop event.
Send the next instruction
Keep the agent process and its interactive session open. When the follow-up prompt arrives, type a response or use iPhone dictation, then send it. The integration injects the message into the live session and the agent can begin the next turn.
Voice Follow-up does not reopen a process that has exited. One-shot CLI commands do not have a live session available for the returning message. Hermes is more limited: it accepts Voice Follow-up only in its classic interactive CLI, not in gateway, single-query, cron, or Kanban worker sessions.
The Voice Follow-up setting is account-wide. It cannot currently be enabled for one agent or Hermes profile and disabled for another.
If you only want to know that work finished, leave Voice Follow-up off and use Agent Completion notifications. If a prompt fails to open or return, follow Voice Follow-up troubleshooting.
